Reserving Fish

The fish pictured is the exact fish you will receive unless otherwise noted.

When you see a fish you would like to purchase, simply click on the "Add to Cart" button and follow the directions. If you prefer to pay via a different method then email us with the name and number (when applicable) of the fish you'd like to purchase.

Please do not mail a payment until we have confirmed that the fish is indeed yours. If the fish you inquired about has already been claimed, we will offer an alternate fish if one is available per the above terms.

Fish are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. We only "hold" fish without payment for 72 hours.

If ordering from outside the USA please contact us via email as we cannot process your orders through the shopping cart. Live arrival guarantee is not available on International shipments.

Payment

We accept PayPal (preferred), money orders, E-Checks, and cashiers checks.

We must receive payment via PayPal within 72 hours or within 5 days via Money Order of reserving the fish or winning an auction unless other arrangements have been made with us. If we don't receive payment or correspondence discontinues, we will immediately offer the selected fish to any other interested parties OR return it to the stock shop without any further notification. Multiple auctions or items purchased at the same time are required to be paid for in full with one payment.

Shipping

We ship via FedEx Standard Overnight, ***USPS Express Mail, or ****USPS Priority (weather permitting). NO Live Arrival Guarantee available on any shipping method other than FedEx Standard Overnight or USPS Express delivered overnight.

Shipping cost for up to your first three pairs is:

  • $65* for FedEx Standard Overnight
  • $49* for USPS Express Mail
  • $22* for USPS Priority (weather permitting)
  • $3 per additional pair
  • Your fish are shipped Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday in top condition and great care is taken in safe packaging. We do not feed the bettas we are shipping the day before or day of shipping. This helps to ensure that they will not have an issue and pollute their shipping water. We also use conditioned water and we add Ship Right which is a complete water conditioner and fish calmer for long distance shipping of tropical fish. Also guards against fish diseases, while the calming additive reduces stress and fighting among fish. Fish arrive in the highest quality and best overall health.

    We do not package your order until right before shipping occurs. The shipping address & return shipping address are pre-printed. This helps speed up delivery and eliminate shipping errors. Correct shipping addresses as well as telephone numbers are critical to the safety of your fish, always double check the address & telephone number that you submit with your order. If you fail to submit a correct address or telephone number we are not responsible for anything that happens with your shipment. All orders must be signed for unless other arrangements are made prior to shipping. All FedEx & USPS Express packages will have a tracking number so you can see where your bettas are at all times.

    We guarantee live delivery** on FedEx Standard Overnight (or higher) as well as USPS Express Overnight shipping only. Live arrival guarantee applies only to shipments that are received on the first attempt by the carrier. If someone is not present to receive your shipment and it is either held at the location or redelivered the live arrival guarantee is null and void. Shipments requested to be held at the carriers facility are not covered by the live arrival guarantee. Should an unfortunate situation arise where your fish are dead on arrival (D.O.A), we will issue you a credit towards a future order (shipping excluded) or replace the fish (shipping excluded) as we do not refund payments. An email with a picture of the fish in the UNOPENED double bag is required within 2 hours of arrival. Sorry, no exceptions. We cannot be held responsible for D.O.A's due to carriers fault or weather delays. We are not responsible for fish arriving with "blown" or damaged fins. Each fish leaves here in pristine condition (unless otherwise noted) and we cannot be held responsible for damages occurring during transit. When your fish leaves here they are alive and healthy. Unfortunately, we have no control over how the carrier handles the shipment.

    If you do have any issues with your fish other than DOA you must notify us within 2 hours of receipt or lose the right for replacement. If there is an issue with a specific fish in your shipment we must have a photo emailed to us within 2 hours of arrival clearly depicting your issue. Unfortunately, we cannot do anything unless we have this proof due to prior unscrupulous buyers who go to great lengths to get something for free. If for any reason you are unsatisfied with your shipment we will gladly refund you your payment price minus the shipping charges. You are responsible to ship the order to us in the same condition it was received via the same shipping method you received it. Once we receive the shipment and determine their condition a refund will be issued in the same manner it was received.

    We reserve the right to delay your shipment if necessary due to inclement weather. We also may hold your shipment if we feel the betta is under the weather and may not travel well. During the cold winter months if we feel that the betta(s) may not arrive safely with FedEx Standard Overnight we will offer to ship via FedEx First Overnight or FedEx Priority Overnight depending on your location at a minimal additional cost. This way your shipment will not have to be subject to any unnecessary delays.

    We do not charge any handling fees or box fees ! Included with shipping is a fully insulated styro box (yours to keep ! ) and a complimentary 40+hour heat pack (if necessary).

    We will not ship without sending you the shipping date in advance; upon shipping your package we will provide you with the tracking number.

    We take great care in packing our fish - We always ship in appropriate packaging and use proper packing materials.

    It is the responsibility of all recipients to have the proper documentation if necessary (ie, Hawaii residents must have the proper agriculture permits) as we will not be held responsible for any packages returned due to you not having the proper documentation. If your package is returned you will be responsible for the cost of the return shipping as well as a $10 repacking fee. If the fish are DOA on their return to us we will notify you but we are NOT responsible.

    In the event that a fish or pair has an issue on the day of shipping we will send a replacement fish/pair of the same or greater value. If you do not want a replacement sent please notify us at the time your order is placed.

    * Costs outside of Continental USA as well as areas not serviced by FedEx Standard Overnight will be slightly higher. Please contact us for shipping quote. If you place your order and select FedEx Standard Overnight as your shipping method and this service is unavailable to your area we reserve the right to select a method and/or carrier to deliver your package at or near the cost you paid without prior notification . We will not refund the difference or ask you to pay the difference if such exists. If ordering from outside the USA please contact us via email as we cannot process your orders through the shopping cart. Live arrival guarantee is not available on International shipments.

    *** USPS Express mail may NOT be equal to overnight for remote areas. You are responsible to check here for the Express Mail Service Commitments. Be sure to use orgin zip code of 33414.

    Effective September 8, 2009, the Postal Service revised Mailing Standards of the United States Postal Service, Domestic Mail Manual (DMMŪ) 114.3.1, 414.3.0, and 604.9.2.4. Express Mail shipments containing live animals are now exempt from next-day or second-day delivery guarantee. The delivery refund guarantee of live animals is extended to within 3 days from the date of mailing. You can read it here in the Postal Bulletin 22267 (9-10-09) thus we can no longer guarantee live arrival with USPS Express.

    ****Items (excluding fish) shipped via USPS Priority are shipped uninsured thus for any reason if the shipment is not received we are not responsible. Buyers wanting to insure their shipments may do so at a cost of as follows:

    Shipping Fish and Invertebrates into Hawaii

    The Hawaii State Dept of Agriculture has in place laws regulating the importation of fish and invertebrates into Hawaii. They strictly regulate what fishes can and can not be imported.

    Please do not ask us to ship to you any fish or invertebrates without you first ensuring that they species you want is allowed, as well as getting the permit mentioned below. You can check the legality of the fish in question by going to here. If it's not on the list, we can't ship it. If a fish you want is NOT on the list, you need to contact the Hawaii State Dept of Agriculture to see if an exception can be made.

    If you get caught importing prohibited live fish and invertebrates into Hawaii, there are hefty fines for both you and us.

    Before we can ship any livestock into Hawaii, you (the customer) need to obtain a permit from the Hawaii State Dept. of Agriculture at 808-586-0844. This permit is only good for one shipment, and costs $20.00. You can also request a permit for unlimited shipments for one year. The cost is $100.00. One must pay by money order for the permit. It takes about 1-2 weeks to receive the permit from the time they receive it.

    You would then email us a copy of the permit so we may include it in the shipment.

    The State Dept of Agriculture inspector instructs that the shipping box be marked "Live Fish" and "May be opened and delayed for Agricultural inspection". They monitor the post office twice a day to inspect parcels and will open the box to see if what is in the box is the same as what the permit is for to import into Hawaii.



    Delivery

    Once you make a purchase or win an auction from us, the order will be promptly shipped according to our payment guidelines. If for any reason we are asked to hold your order we will do so but at your risk and they must be paid for in full.

    Once paid for, we will hold fish until the agreed-upon ship date. Ship dates must be within 7 days of payment to avoid a pre-paid daily hold fee (2% per day beginning on the 8th day). The purpose of the hold fee is to cover the cost of the occupied space and care to be given while holding your order. Under no circumstances will we be liable for any fish that becomes sick or die during a "hold"! Holding an order is at the buyer's risk!

    Unfortunately, when dealing with live animals no one can predict what may or may not happen. When your fish are ordered they are alive, healthy, and in top condition.

    Our top priority is that you receive your fish not just alive but in excellent condition.

    Receipt of payment acknowledges you have read and agree to all of the above terms and policies.
